How the Standards Builder is Organized

This tutorial will show teachers how the Standards Builder is organized within the NextGenMath platform.

Selecting the Grade Level

The main Standards Builder page contains all of the standards and stems in the platform for each grade level. The standards and stems for a specific grade level can be selected by using the grade dropdown menu in the upper left of the page.

Stem Grid Organization

Using the button group in the left-hand corner of the stem grid, determine whether to view the stems in digital or print format upon stem selection.

Standards and stems are organized by both domain and target or cluster of standards. Each target cluster includes the standards within that target and a quick summary of the skills covered.

The gold stems represent major standards and target groups. The blue stems represent supporting standards and target groups.

Hovering over a stem displays a preview of that question and response type.

Creating an Assignment

On the right-hand side, you will find the Assignment Builder, where stems are drag-and-dropped to create customized standards-based assignments.
