How is the Secure Browser installed on student devices?

Next Gen Math supports a secure browser powered by Respondus LockDown Browser. If students are on district-managed devices and are not allowed to install apps or extensions, district IT may need to push the secure browser out to student devices.

The secure browser only needs to be installed once per device. After it is installed, students can launch secure assignments from Next Gen Math.

Windows devices

For Windows devices, use the installer below:

For managed Windows devices, labs, or remote deployment, use the managed MSI package below:

Chromebook devices

For Chromebooks, the secure browser is available in the Chrome Web Store. District IT can push this out through the Google Admin Console.

iPad devices

For iPad devices, install the LockDown Browser app from the Apple App Store. District IT teams using Apple School Manager or an MDM can deploy the app using their normal process.

After installation

Once the secure browser is installed, students should return to their secure assignment in Next Gen Math. Students can use the Test Browser button before launching the assignment to confirm the browser is installed correctly.

If the secure browser does not launch after installation, please contact Next Gen Math Support at support@nextgenmath.com.
