Targeted Intervention Program: Lesson Sequence (Into, Through, Beyond)

Remember, each lesson within each module contains three parts:

  • Problem of the Day
  • Lesson Sequence: Into/Through/Beyond
  • Differentiated Instruction

Here are instructions for each part of the lesson sequence.


Into: Explaining and Modeling

There are a few ways to present the into.

Option A: Project from the Into/Through/Beyond Lesson Card

 

Option B: Project from the interactive Lesson Plan Suggestion included for each lesson.

  1. Find and click the correct module's "Lesson Plan Suggestion," which can be found above each module.TIP lesson plan suggestion.png
  2. Scroll down to the "Into" portion of the Lesson Plan Suggestion and project onto the board.

    Talk through the problems as they are projected. This is interactive, so items  you click will appear on the screen for students.

Option C (with A/B): Demonstration Options from the Lesson Plan Suggestion

The lesson plan suggestion includes several ideas for demonstrating the skills with students: 


Through: Collaboration and Practice

The lesson plan suggestion also includes ideas for Through activities meant to serve as practice opportunities. Suggested sequence:

  1. Navigate to the Suggested Lesson Plan and either push the assignment out digitally or print it. You can also do this directly from the Into/Through/Beyond card on the main TIP page.
  2. Facilitate one or more of the lesson suggestions, or one of your choosing.

Beyond: Check for Understanding

You will use the results of this Beyond activity to determine which assignments students receive in the Differentiated Instruction activity that follows. Therefore, it is recommended that you push this activity digitally. However, if you need or want to print, be sure to enter the scores manually (see tutorial below).

  1. Assign the activity:

    If you pushed the Through activity digitally, you can assign a retake as your Beyond activity, allowing you to compare data more efficiently.

  1. If you didn't assign the Through activity digitally, or you don't wish to assign a retake, assign the Beyond activity directly from the Into/Through/Beyond card.
