Written Instructions:
The following options are the same for most online assignments in the Next Gen Math platform.
Assignment Templates
Templates allow you to quickly select different settings for different types of assignments.

To select a template, use the drop-down menu at the top of the page. Your settings will then auto-populate for that assignment.
Basic Settings
Title: This is the title students will see in their platform
Label: These are optional and can help organize your assignments.

Assignment Type: Select "Classwork" or "Homework." You can then sort the gradebook by these assignments types.

Start date: This is the day students will see the assignment in their platform.
Due date: Optional. If set, students will no longer have access to the assignment unless the "past due" toggle is in the on position.
Available from and Available until: allow you to determine the times students have access to the assignment.
Dynamic Questions/Shuffled Order: allow you to decide how the questions will appear for students.
- Both off: Students receive the same exact assignment
- Dynamic on: students will get the same types of questions in the same order, but the actual questions (or nouns and numbers) will be different.
- Shuffled on: students will get the same exact questions, but not in the same order

Both on: students will receive different questions in a different order.
Instructional Supports
The instructional supports section allows you to determine what, if any, academic supports will be made available to students in the assignment.

The following instructional supports are turned off or on by using the toggle next to them: Videos, English/Spanish Toggle, Drawing, Lessons (written), and Vocabulary.
The following instructional supports have additional options/settings: Assignment Language, Calculator, and Text-to-Speech.

Assignment Criteria & Sharing and Security
These sections allow you to select additional options and parameters for the assignment. Hovering over each option provides an explanation.
Integrations
Assignments can be synced with Google Classroom and Schoology. Once you have completed the linking process, turn the toggle next to the platform to the "on" position.

Standards Taught
You can select which standards from an assignment have been taught and which have not. Removing a standard from this section does not affect the assignment students will see, but it allows you to compare data once you have results.

Adding Students
The bottom part of the page is where you select who will receive the assignment. You can add students by Section (class) or by learning group.
By Section:
To add students by section, use the drop the menu to select the sections(s) you'd like. Or, if you'd like to add all of your sections at once (or if you only have one section), you can click "Add all sections."
By Learning Group:
To add a learning group (or more than one), use the filter on the right labeled "Filter learning groups." You can then select one or more learning groups. To add all learning groups, click "Add all learning groups."

Once your students are populated, click "Create Assignment."
