Accessing Tier 2
You can access Tier 2 Intervention from either the Assignment Data page or the Assignment Results page.
From the Assignment Data page, click anywhere on the row of the assignment to open a pop-up window with assignment information. Then select Tier 2 Intervention.
From the Assignment Results page, click Tier 2 near the top of the page.
Tier 2 Page Layout
First, you’ll see the standards included in the original assignment. The number next to each standard indicates how many students submitted the assignment.
Click a standard to see your students grouped into three assignment categories: Reteach, Remediation, and Acceleration.
The default grouping method is Best Fit, which places each student in one category based on overall performance. This makes it easy to provide every student with an appropriate follow-up assignment.
Multi-Path places students in all applicable categories. This allows you to assign more than one type of follow-up to a student, such as both Reteach and Remediation.
Reteach Assignments
Reteach provides additional practice with the same skills included in the original assignment. It is designed for students who are close to proficiency but may benefit from reteaching and another opportunity to practice.
In this example, the Reteach assignment includes eighth-grade EE.1, stems 1 and 2.
Use the menus on the right to adjust the number of questions for each stem.
To change the content, click Adjust Reteach Items. From here, you can add additional stems from the original standard. When you are ready, click the "Add Stems" button.
Click Edit Assignment to change the title or add or remove students.
Click Print to open the print page, where you can adjust the printable assignment.
To create an online assignment, use the arrow next to Assign to adjust the assignment settings. Once you have selected your options, click Assign.
To create another type of follow-up assignment, select Create More.
Remediation Assignments
Remediation focuses on prerequisite skills that build up to the current standard. It is designed for students who need additional practice with previously taught skills.
In this example, the Remediation assignment includes related stems from grades 3 through 6. As with Reteach, you can adjust the number of questions for each stem.
Click Adjust Remediation Items to change the assignment content. You can adjust the level of depth to control how far back the assignment goes and add procedural fluency skills necessary for the standard.
You can also edit the title or student list, print the assignment, or adjust the settings before assigning it online.
Acceleration Assignments
Acceleration provides practice with more advanced skills that build from the current standard. It is designed for students who are ready to move forward.
In this example, the Acceleration assignment includes a later eighth-grade standard and standards from Algebra 1 and Algebra 2. You can adjust the number of questions for each stem as needed.
Click Adjust Acceleration Items to change the level of depth and control how far beyond the current standard the assignment goes.
You can then edit the title or student list, print the assignment, or adjust the settings before assigning it online.
