This tutorial will show teachers how to utilize the Standards Builder in the NextGenMath platform.
The main Standards Builder page contains all of the standards and stems in the platform for each grade level.
Selecting the Grade Level
To display the standards specific to a grade level, use the grade dropdown in the upper left of the standards builder to select the grade level.

Toggling Between Digital & Print Stem Views
To toggle between the view a stem is displayed in when clicked, select ‘Digital’ or ‘Print’ from the stem button group in the top left corner of the standards builder.

Domains & Targets
Standards and stems are organized by both domain and target. Each target cluster includes the standards within that target and a quick summary of the skills covered.

Each standard has multiple stems. A stem is one way of teaching, learning, or assessing a standard.
- The number in parentheses after the standard Is the stem number.
- A film icon within the stem, indicates an instructional video is included for that particular stem.
- The gold stems represent major standards and the blue stems represent supporting standards.
- Hovering over a stem will give you a preview of that question and response type.

The Assignment Builder
The assignment builder is located on the right-hand side of the page. To create an assignment, drag and drop the stems from the STEM grid into the builder. Assignments can be given a title and label from the top of the assignment builder.
