A Smarter Way to Differentiate: Blended Learning Just Got an Upgrade

At Next Gen Math, we’re always looking for ways to make teachers’ lives easier—and students’ learning more meaningful. That’s why we’re excited to share a powerful new update to our Blended Learning feature!

Until now, Blended Learning has supported teachers in assigning targeted remediation or reteaching: when students struggled with a particular stem, the platform automatically provided practice for the stems they missed.

Pretty great, right?

Well, it just got better.

Now Supporting Acceleration

With this update, Blended Learning doesn’t just help teachers catch students up—it helps them move students forward. You’ll now see an Accelerated Learning activity to use with students who show proficiency on an assignment, providing them with vertically articulated standards to practice, from the same or subsequent grade level. Assign it with conceptual videos and instructional supports enabled, so your students can continue to build skills and maximize their learning.

Why It Matters

Differentiation made easier: Tailored practice for every student, ready for teachers to use.

A targeted response to data: Student assignment results drive the next steps, whether they need to review a concept or dive deeper.

Built for coherence: The Accelerated Learning option gives students opportunities to engage with content that may extend beyond their current grade level but that builds upon the skills and concepts covered in the original assignment. As always, Intervention Learning activities provide reteaching and practice for students who need support on grade-level content.

TL;DR?

Next Gen Math Blended Learning activities now include both acceleration and remediation/reteaching options, all driven by real-time assignment results. Teachers can seamlessly deliver targeted remediation and enrichment—all in one place.

Stay tuned for more updates—and don’t forget to check out the new feature in action on the platform!
