The Teacher Dashboard brings your activity, student data, and teaching tools into one place. Let’s take a look from top to bottom.
Activity Feed
The Activity Feed shows recent activity, including student assignment submissions and folders or assignments shared with you by colleagues and administrators.
News and Announcements
Under News and Announcements, you’ll find platform updates, Next Gen Math news, and our monthly blog, which highlights new features and other updates.
Real-Time Dashboard
When students are logged in and working on assignments, the bar at the upper left and the Active Assignments box show how many students are active, idle, or asking for help.
Click View All under Active Assignments to open the Real-Time Dashboard.
Each student working on an assignment has a card showing how many questions they’ve answered, marked for review, left unanswered, or haven’t visited yet.
Click the eye icon to view a student’s screen as they work.
Standards Report by Class
Next, the dashboard shows how your classes are progressing toward the standards.
Filter the Standards Report by Class by date, class, learning group, or assignment type.
For each class, you’ll see the score distribution, number of standards assessed, average student score, and number of students whose overall average is in the Not Met range.
Click the arrow beside a course or section to see individual student results. The class’s lowest-scoring standards appear first, helping you spot where students may need support.
Hover over a tile for details, or click it for a snapshot of a student’s progress on that standard. From there, select View Student Report to see the student’s assignments.
For a closer look, click View Full Report.
Full Report
This opens the Reports section, which you can also access directly from the platform’s navigation.
Filter by date, learning group, assignments, or labels, and choose an assignment type. Below the filters, you can view results by section.
At the top of the report, you’ll find summary information and suggested standards to review, ranked in order of need.
To receive individual student reports as PDFs, click “Email PDFs.” You can request reports by course or use the drop-down arrow to request all student reports at once. You will receive a link to the PDFs via email.
Standards Progress Chart:
Below standards by class we have the Standards Progress Chart. This shows progress for all students in all sections.
The tiles show the standards that have been assessed, and the average score. They are color-coded by proficiency level. Hovering over a tile provides further information.
The size of the tile indicates the number of questions answered for that standard, with the larger tiles indicating more student responses.
You can use the buttons along the top to switch views and view the data in different ways.
Progress and Milestones
Finally, Progress and Milestones adds a little fun to using the platform while offering ideas for what to try next. Click View All to explore your current playbooks and milestones and see what you’ve completed.
Playbooks guide you through the steps of a specific teaching task, such as using assignment results to plan student support. Milestones recognize your use of platform features and award points as you reach each tier.
