I hope you found time to relax, rejuvenate, and revel (the new “3 Rs”) during your time off.
While you were burying your feet in the sand, jet-setting around the word, or lounging on the couch with a bag of potato chips 🥔), we were busy creating some of Next Gen Math’s most exciting updates!
This summer brought small-but-mighty improvements, as well as bigger updates like the redesigned Tier 2 resource and a brand new Teacher Dashboard. Finding new ways to make your lives easier was the perfect way to spend our summer.
Without further ado, look what we made!
This Month’s Features
Platform Enhancements
The Standards Builder received a few quality- of-life improvements that make it easier to add stems and see what you’ve already included.
Framework Fundamentals and the Standards Builder have taken their relationship to the next level and moved in together. It just makes so much sense, and makes it easier for K-2 teachers to find what they need!
Sharing is caring, and now it’s easier than ever. Share data and assignments at the same time right from the Assignment Data page.
Tier 2 Reaches a New Tier
How do you make something already great even greater? Ask our Development Team, because they just did it with the Tier 2 redesign.
When you view assignment results, how often do students need the same follow-up?
I know the answer: never.
And how much time do you have to sort them into small groups, find appropriate skills to review, and create assignments that address their needs?
Again, I know the answer: not enough.
The redesigned Tier 2 resource does that work for you. For each standard in a completed assignment, students are sorted into one of three groups: Reteach, Remediate, or Accelerate.
Reteach Assignments provide more practice with the same standard for students who answered some questions correctly and some incorrectly.
Remediate Assignments focus on prerequisite skills for students who answered all questions for the standard incorrectly.
Acceleration Assignments offer challenge questions from subsequent standards for students who answered every question from the standard correctly.
Every Tier 2 assignment is customizable, so you can adjust it to fit your students’ needs. We’ve done the sorting so you can focus on the important work: helping every student become the best mathematician they can be.

Teacher Dashboard: Your Daily Student Check-Up
If you’ve logged into Next Gen recently, you’ve seen the shiny new Teacher Dashboard. There’s a lot to explore, so let’s start at the top.
At a glance, you’ll find live views of student activity, important Next Gen Math announcements (like when this blog is published!), and an activity feed with student submissions, shared assignments, and more.
Live View, or eyes in the back of your head?
While students work on an assignment, Live View lets you monitor progress in real time, help students with “hands raised,” and even view a student’s screen.
Standards Reports
Moving down the page, Standards Reports provide color-coded, filterable, real time data.
Get a quick overview of student progress, or dig deeper into what’s happening across a class or with an individual student.
But the fun doesn’t stop there. And I do mean fun!
Earn badges, milestones, and rewards just for using the platform. Complete playbooks, fulfill challenges, and become a more proficient Next Gen Math user. Casual gamers welcome!
