Embedded Spanish Translation
We’re excited to introduce embedded Spanish translation for printed and online assignments. The new translation feature uses Spanish localized to Mexico, offering greater alignment to the Spanish spoken within our schools and districts than Google Translate options.
Translating Print Assignments
After you’ve populated question stems into the assignment builder and added a title, select ‘Print’ to open the PDF print preview page. Here the ‘Vista en Español’ button can be selected to translate the PDF from English into Spanish. To learn more about accessing and enabling the Spanish translation feature for print assignments, view the translation tutorial here.
Translating Online Assignments
After you’ve populated the assignment builder with and added a title, select ‘Assign’ to display the assignment settings. Toggle on the ‘English/Spanish toggle’ to enable translation functionality for students while they complete an assignment. To learn more about accessing and enabling the Spanish translation feature for online assignments, view the translation tutorial here.
Enabling Student Language Designation
The language designation feature enables teachers to set a default assignment language for each student.
- To designate a language, open the roster, select the student(s) to designate a language for, and click ‘Designate Student Language’ to choose between English and Spanish as the default designation.
- To publish an online assignment in each student’s designated language, set the ‘assignment language’ option to “teacher designated”.
To learn more about how to access and enable the language designation feature, view the designation tutorial here.
Algebra 1 Content
The Next Gen Math platform now includes comprehensive Algebra 1 content within the Standards Builder. Teachers can access over 70 new Algebra 1 stems to support remediation, acceleration, or grade-level high school instruction. Even more Algebra 1 stems are on the way, expanding your toolkit for teaching essential algebra concepts. To learn more about how to locate the Algebra 1 stems, view the Algebra 1 tutorial here.
Enhanced Reporting Tools
The new Reports tab significantly enhances the former “Usage” tab. In addition to viewing detailed platform engagement metrics, teachers and administrators can generate assignment and standards-based performance reports as PDFs. These reports are ideal for parent-teacher conferences and student performance evaluations.
To generate a report, select ‘Student Assignments Report’ or ‘Student Standards Report’. Then select the date range, students, and assignments to filter the report on. Select ‘Generate Report’ to receive the report PDF to the connected email.
Student Demographic Data Integration
Administrators can now upload student demographic data to enhance the ability to analyze student progress by demographic criteria. The demographics feature is accessible via the “Settings” page under the profile dropdown menu, where CSV files can be uploaded and synced to the platform. Administrators can also manage the visibility of demographic information by using the “Manage Access” option. For additional guidance, please refer to our feature tutorial here.
New Stems and Resources
To further support educators, we’ve added 286 video tutorials and 72 new stems since August 1st, 2024. Video tutorials are available on our Tutorial page and YouTube channel.
We’re continuing to expand our stem library and welcome your input—if you have specific requests, please use the “Stem Request” button under Support in the platform.
New Standards Builder Layout—Now Organized by Target
The Standards Builder has been upgraded with an improved layout, organizing standards by target. This change enhances clarity and helps you easily find which stems align with specific learning targets.
‘Same Questions’ for Printed Assignments
The new ‘Same Questions’ feature allows teachers to print the same question multiple times on a single assignment sheet. This is ideal for creating paper cutouts for quick activities like do nows and exit tickets.
You can find this option in the PDF print stem preview page.
